Hi! I'm Rachel.

I'm passionate about helping writers master the art of fantasy worldbuilding. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to create an all-encompassing fantasy world, but I'm here to show you that it's not impossible. Through honing your worldbuilding skills, you can write a fantasy novel—or even a series—of epic proportions.

My Expertise

My journey began when I started writing epic fantasy as a young child. Throughout middle and high school, I received numerous fantasy writing awards. I pursued a Bachelor of Arts in college, specializing in screenplay and film directing, where I focused on the art of fantasy worldbuilding. These experiences have shaped my deep understanding of the genre and its unique demands.

Overcoming Challenges

When I first started writing fantasy, I was vastly overwhelmed by established fantasy authors, feeling that I could never achieve something of such magnitude. Realizing that worldbuilding is a skill, I immersed myself in every resource I could find—books, classes, and media—to master it.

What sets my teaching apart is my micro-level focus on worldbuilding. I emphasize the smallest parts that have the biggest impact. My character-based approach teaches worldbuilding as it relates to your characters, creating a rich environment that is both engaging and fun to write.

My Mission

I believe everyone has the capacity to be a great storyteller and deserves to have their stories published. My mission is to nurture these talents and watch them grow. I aim to empower young female writers to create immersive fantasy worlds and realize their storytelling potential.

I stay connected with the latest trends by reading extensively and engaging with other authors in the genre on an academic level. This ensures that my teachings are always current and relevant.

I provide comprehensive guides and resources to help you identify where your worldbuilding needs the most support and offer the tools to get you there.

Long-Term Goals

My long-term goals include expanding my offerings to include advanced worldbuilding courses, publishing collaborative anthologies featuring my students' work, and hosting in-person workshops and retreats. I aspire to see the writers I mentor confidently creating and sharing their fantasy worlds, achieving publication success, and becoming influential voices in the fantasy genre.
